12 weeks until LA

YAH we are going to LA on the 29th of October thanks to Make - a - Wish........ While in LA we will be doing this

Visiting Minnie and Mickey at Disneyland

Having fun at Universal Studios.  Hoping to see the set of Desperate Housewives

Enjoying the thrill rides at Knotts berry Farm

Cruising down Sunset Boulevard in an old Convertible

VisitingGrauman's Chinese Theatre and doing the walk of fame

and a little window shopping in Rodeo Drive
We are over there for 7 nights and our days are filled to the brim with activities which have been organised by the foundation.  We are so very blessed to be able to do this although Emma had t go through a really shitty year to get here and it still isn't over for her yet.

Leanne :-)

PS Anyone know of any good shopping malls in LA.....????????  I have been told to go to a shop called Michaels or something like that as there are heaps of crafty things for sale.  Any other hints ladies?

What fantastic news, how exciting! It's wonderful for you to have something fun to look forward to.

I will ask my boss at work about shopping in USA as they go there each year for business and know the good places. They are over there right now and will be back here in 2 weeks.

I love your recent layouts shown here, your very talented. I also enjoyed seeing the photos of your craft room, thanks for sharing.

Have a fun, warm and safe week end from Susan McGuire (smiles1965) at Scrapboxx.

Michaels is good, there is one in Anaheim (about 10 minutes from Disneyland) there isn't a lot of scrapping stuff but a whole lot of craft stuff and a lot cheaper than Aus, especially things like die cutting machines and dies.
Shopping in LA is CRAZY!! we are just not used to the crowds and the amount of time it takes to get everywhere due to the people/traffic.
We were in LA in October and the lines at Disneyland are loooong, nothing like our worlds on the GoldCoast, so don't expect to do too much each day due to the volume of people!!
Try to eat at the Cheesecake factory at lease once (they are everywhere) great food for a great price and HUGE serves (as there always are in the USA) we are 4 big eaters and could always share 2 or 3 meals between us!
Have FUN!!

Hi Leeanne, I have come across from Mel Goodsells blog and we sent emma some stickers back in march. we have just got back from LA 3 weeks ago, having 9 days there. My daughter Britt was lucky enough to dance at disneyland, calfornia adventure ,universal studios and kodak theatre with her dance school. We found lots of shops, The Block at Orange is great, we got NIKE shoes for $30 and $40 a pair, and also there is a Westfield not far away, the clothes and shoes are very cheap compared to what we pay, we had to buy 3 extra bags to bring back all our extra shopping! We were there in July, so very hot and over 400 000 people at Disney each day we were there, when the girls danced in the main st parade it was estimated 200 000 watched them..so exciting for them. Have a lovely time, we stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel across the road from disney, there also is a target ( $7 taxi ride away) 40 mins walk away from disney where they are like our target but also have groceries...cheap cheap cheap 24 bottles of water for like $3 and bananas for 20 cents each! Britt was loving the fruit at target! Good resturants across from disney too and very well priced. Have a lovely time and I hope all goes well with Emma
