Anzac Day 2009

Had a fabulous day with family and friends. Our morning started with the Anzac Day march at Burleigh. Jacob didn't march this year as he hurt his ankle the day before playing sport at school, Emma did though and she also made us very proud singing a duet with her friend in the choir in front of hundreds and hundreds of people. It gave me goose bumps and I nearly cried. She sounded so beautiful..... She had to sing "the last Anzac" which was very moving. I have got video of her but don't know how to load it into my blog...

Have been sewing up a storm and will show you all once I have finished.

I have a very quite morning today as Stuart and Jacob have gone on a car rally and Emma stayed with her big sister last night and won't be home for a few hours. I may have to go in the lounge and just bludge for a while .

Here are some photos of our day. After the service we went down to the beach with some friends for a picnic. The kids had the best time and we adults just lounged around sipping our wines and relaxing.

Hope you have all had a wonderful fun filled weekend.

Take care and stay safe

Recently Published

Just wanted to share two layouts that were published in the recent Scrapbook Creations. Forgot that they were even gone.......

Yep I know I know, pretty crap photos. I did think that I had them on my computer but alas they were not there so I just photographed them from the magazine. I am sure that if I had of waited until in the morning then the photos would have been better but I have no patience and wanted it done now......
I am very excited at the moment as there are only 5 more sleeps until my mummy comes up to visit. I am glad that she will be here for mothers day as it would have been a bit sad for her at home alone so soon after losing her mum and besides now I will be able to spoil her.
We have the ANZAC day march in Burleigh Heads on Saturday. We are not allowed to miss this one as Emma is marching and singing in the choir. This year will see her sing a little duet with a friend. She has such confidence for a little girl, if I could tap in then I would make a fortune selling it on e-bay LOL. Hopefully Saturday night I will have loads of photos to share with you. May even have a snippet of video (if I can figure that one out)
Well I have nothing else to add today. I can tell you that I am very tired - not used to my brain working so hard, bit of a shock to the system hehehehe
take care and stay safe
God Bless the ANZACS

a couple of photos to share

Took these photos while we were in Brisbane. I so love the photo of the church, the old and new coming together. Not much happening in this household of late. Oh my mum is coming up at the end of the month so that is very exciting.

Thanks for looking

Am going to a girlfriends house to sew tonight so hopefully I will have more to share with you tomorrow.

Butterfly Crafts

Well here it is, my first assignment for Butterfly Crafts. I had to create a layout on "what fashion means to me". Whether it be favourite fashions from a period of time, a favourite designer or maybe even a fashion disaster - whatever I want

How awesome..... I have always loved the way women looked in the 1950's so my layout is representing that. I just think women really looked like women back in those days and they always took great pride in how they presented themselves, with hair, make up etc. Hope you like it. The wording on the layout says "I love the look of how women dressed in the 1950's. They were so feminine and classy. I adore the look of the corseted waist and full hips that were the hallmark of 50's clothing. Swimwear was also soft and form fitting showing off a ladies silhouette perfectly yet still remaining respectable"

Thanks for taking the time to have a look

Happy Easter to all

Hope everyone has had a Happy Easter.

Stuart and I took the children to Brisbane just for three nights for a mini holiday. Was a bit wet but we still had loads of fun as the weather forced us to stay inside and we ended up playing games nearly all weekend. We did manage to venture out each time the rain stopped. We rode on the giant Ferris wheel which absolutely terrified me. Couldn't believe how high it was and I was so scared that we were going to fall (yes I am a big sook really). The children thought this was hilarious and laughed at me for the rest of the day. We managed to catch the markets at Southbank and then on the way home we found more markets. It was fun walking around the city. Loved it. Here are a few photos of our adventure, I will share some more later.

:( Nanna has passed away

My nanna left us today and has gone to a beautiful place........ It has been hard for her of late as she has just had stroke after stroke but she was a fighter and fight she did right until the very end. We will all miss her terribly especially my mum. It does not make it any easier when you are forewarned either. It hurts but I have to look on the bright side and know that I will see her again and know that she is not suffering anymore

God Bless

This weeks Chipboard Challenge

at Scrapping Outback was fun and fiddly. We used Jack paper and vellum, two things that I haven't used before so was quite a treat. Am very happy with the final outcome and really think this layout is pretty cute

I also have my first DT assignment for Butterfly Crafts. Cannot tell you anything about it yet as it is secret squirrel stuff. It will be something fun though so keep your eyes open...........

Anyway thank you for visiting yet again.

Oh before I go I just have to tell you all, I went and visited my friend Bec today who has just had a beautiful little baby boy. His name is Mackenzie and he is just the cutest little munchkinn. I just wanted to bring him home with me......... He has a full head of blonde curls and when I say blonde I mean totally blonde. Unbelievable.

Chat later
