how quick

has this past week gone.....

The children finished school on Friday which was a little sad as Jacob is now heading off to high school in 2010 and Emma is going to a new school so had to leave all of her beautiful friends. There were loads of tears I can tell you, I must admit that even I had a little tear in my eye. It was even worse when we went to see the principal and deputy principal. They have been so amazing with my children and I will be forever grateful for what they have done for them both

Friday afternoon was spent at the accident and emergency department with Jacob. Silly goose was cutting fabric with his pocket knife and ended up slicing up his finger really well. The amount of blood was icky and then poor little mummy panicked. Thank goodness Emma was there as she knew exactly what to do. Jacob was such a mess - poor little darling. We got straight in which was great but then we had to wait two hours for a doctor, thankfully he wasn't bleeding much at that stage. Ideally he should have had 4 to 5 stitches but as soon as the work needle was mentioned Jacob totally freaked out. We ended up getting butterfly stitches (which I don't think will really do the job). I guess only time will tell. We re dressed the wound this morning and it was no where near closed. I think that he is going to have a big scar.

Our fur baby got a lovely present today. Stuart boned out a leg of pork and Jed was the lucky recipient of the bone. You should have seen the look on his face when he got it - if dogs could smile then he was certainly smiling.......

I decided to get in the kitchen and make some little biscuits today. I had seen these on other peoples blogs and thought they were adorable so just had to make some. They have been a huge hit.

The kids have been in the pool so much these past few days. A bit unfair for Jacob as he has to have a bag over his hand and make sure it doesn't get wet, lol he was getting so frustrated today as you could see that all he wanted to do was dive under. Oh well only a week of keeping it dry and then he should be fine.

I hope this finds you all happy and healthy out there in blog land. Until next time stay safe and be happy.

Only 1 week left

Until the end of the school year. I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone. The children are starting their new school next year so that is going to be quite a change for them both.

They had their swimming carnival yesterday which was great. I was so proud of them both for doing the best they could. Jacob was fabulous but missed out on getting any places, better luck next time buddy and Emma came away with a first for breast stroke, butterfly and back stroke and a second for the freestyle. The weather was perfect and the kids all seemed to have a fantastic time.

I was going to go Christmas shopping today but never ended up getting anything done. I did go out once but that was just to take Emma to a girlfriends house for the night.

I really don't have a lot to tell really. Haven't had a lot of time to do any scrapping. Have done a couple for Kaisercraft but yep you have to wait for those ones.

Well I hope this finds you all happy and healthy

What a day

Emma's birthday party was a huge success. We ended up with 20, 9 and 10 year olds running around madly laughing and having loads of fun. The pool was a big hit and it took so much effort getting them out for lunch. We gave the children all a pool noodle as part of their goody bags and ended up having horse noodle races across the pool. So funny to watch them all. I could not believe how well behaved they all were. Emma was totally spoilt rotten and received some beautiful presents. One little boy gave her a silver necklace from Prouds jewellers. I wouldn't mind it myself actually lol.

Emma and the "boys"

Girls doing what girls do best (posing)

Pressie time

time for the cake

Daddy throwing Em in the pool

Pool noodle races

more pool noodle races (too funny)
So glad that we have a big pool otherwise it would have made things a bit squishy
take care and stay safe

Oh dear

I don't know what I have got myself into. Am starting to get a bit nervous now as Emma has her party tomorrow which equates to 20 - 9 and 10 year old girls and boys running around silly at my house. I must have been temporarily insane when I said yes to a pool party. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hopefully all will go well and the children will be well behaved. Stuart will be sitting them down and telling them the rules so fingers crossed they all follow them........

Instead of buying heaps of lollies for their goodie bags I bought them all a pool noodle (seeing as it is a pool party) and a few other little things. I am praying that the weather stays nice and that they all go home completely tuckered out.

If I survive tomorrow then I will come back and tell you all about it LOL

Busy busy Busy

Haven't been around much as I have been super busy. Have been creating loads of layouts for Kaiser craft but unfortunately I cannot share any with you at the moment.

Finished up at work on Friday, not a lot to tell wasn't working out for either of us so I left. It isn't a bad time to be finishing though with the Christmas holidays fast approaching. Have heaps to do around the house between now and then. We had new awnings put on the house last week which look great and then we are getting the air conditioner being put in the office on Thursday (thank goodness). It is like a sweat box in here of an afternoon.

Am putting the finishing touches on Ems birthday party organising this week. Her birthday is not until January 4 but we have let her have a party this weekend as this is her last year at her current school. So it is more of a going away/birthday party. Her invitation list had 34 names on it. We invited them all but thankfully so far only 18 have RSVP'd. I don't know why I do this to myself. We are having a pool party here at the house so hopefully they will occupy themselves in the pool for the whole 4 hours (yeah not likely)

Anyway still so much to do. Have been trying to get my December daily album done but alas I am not having much luck (time management issue)

Hope this finds you all happy and healthy

I found an awesome website not that long ago and thought I would share it with you

Wordle: GIRLS Wordle: BOYS

Go to WORDLE you will have so much fun playing around with it. You can do heaps of fun stuff with words.

Have vreated another three layouts using the FANTABULOUS digital kits from KAISERCRAFT DIGITAL but cannot show you yet. I must say that the jingles kit would have to be my fav - well actually I like them all.........

Well that is it from me. Stuart is taking me out today to buy a new 22 inch HD monitor for my computer, yah then in a couple of weeks I should get my new laptop (am begging for a lime green one from Dell but am not liking my chances)

Hope you are all having a brilliant weekend.

Port Stephens

What an awesome weekend I had at Kim Archer's Inaugural retreat (the BESTEST ever) Kim left no stone unturned when she organised this and the effort that her and the support team girls went to was amazing. Brilliant!!!!
It was awesome to finally put bodies to heads so to speak when I finally got to meet heaps of the girls I chat to online. I will remember this weekend for a very long time and hopefully Kim will do it all again next year (fingers crossed)

To Janelle, Mardi, Kim, Mel and Yvette thank you so very much, I had so much fun and I have you girls to thank. xxxxxxxxx

Sheree thank you for being my travel partner and thank you Christine for being my camping buddy lol

I have also completed a couple of layouts as part of my Kaiser CT requirements. Just love their digital kits and if you do scrap digitally then go have a look - you will not be disappointed. The boy layout is created using the Tough and Tumble kit and the Tayla layout using the new Hideaway kit .

Look out Kaisercraft - HERE I COME

Digital creative team unveiled!
by Rainie
It’s finally time and we could NOT be more excited…our digital creative team is finally being announced
After careful perusal of everything we received (and there were some doozies, believe us…we’re still drooling over some), we are thrilled to introduce our new digital creative team and show you some of the work they submitted for our consideration.

And now, to introduce our digital team (photos of each member to come later in the week):

Leanne Love
All it took for Leanne to become hooked on scrapbooking was a stroll past a store’s window display of pretty papers – she says she hasn’t stopped since then but started digi scrapping seven months ago and throroughly loves it. She can be inspired by anything from home magazines and advertising to scenery and her children, and her scrapping style is dictated by the photos and products she uses, as well as her mood. Leanne says she is willing to try anything and has been published in several magazines.

Well there you have it, my exciting news. I am so excited and cannot wait to get a start on it all. I was totally speechless yesterday when I got the email and was just dying to tell everyone.

WOO HOO bring it on

I received some incredible news today that I will share with you all tomorrow. I am busting at the gut to tell someone but I promised I wouldn't until they had first.

Tune in tomorrow when the news is out.........

Things are really heating up

over at Scrapz. We are up to round 2 of The Scrapper of Oz challenge and the layouts that are being created are amazing. I am in awe at how many talented women there are in this place.

Here is my layout for this week. I had fun doing this and I have always wanted to scrap those photos of Emma. Looking forward to round 3 now, woo hoo bring it on.
On another note there are now only 10 sleeps until the retreat. Oh boy oh boy I am just so looking forward to this weekend.
Our little man has his year 8 orientation day at Hillcrest Christian College tomorrow. I hope he had a wonderful day and makes some friends.

Can you believe......................

that there are only 13 more sleeps until we head off to the Retreat..... I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone. We received our lists this afternoon so I will be busy getting everything ready to pack. Oh so exciting.

Have been scrapping a couple of layout this week, both are for comps at Scrapz.

Apart from that I haven't really done much at all. Stuart and I got our home office all set up today which has taken me ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL day. I am glad that I persevered though as there is nothing worse than continuing on a project the next day.

Jacob came home from camp on Friday and talked about how good it was all the way home. We were so worried that he would have issues (his first camp) but we needn't have worried as he was fine. I am so proud that he joined in on all the activities and went tobogganing, sailing, surfing, dancing and the list goes on and on. He said the worst thing about camp was the food or lack thereof. We did warn him that there wouldn't be enough for him but he wouldn't believe us lol.

Anyway I am off to go sit on the couch and watch some TV before I go to bed. Hope this finds you all happy and healthy

Huge congrats for Leanne Allison on winning the Scrapboxx DT comp. Cannot wait to see the creations that she is going to come up with.

Well Done Leanne :-)

17 days....................

until Kim Archers retreat - bring it on.........

It is going to be such a fun weekend and I cannot wait.....

Round 1

Scrapz is having a great challenge at the moment and this is my layout for round 1

The layout had to have all 7 colours of the rainbow, have some show of movement (hence the little squiggles near the ambulance tyres) and had to be about yours or someone else's dream. I did mine on Emma's dream of becoming a doctor when she is older.

Cannot wait now for round 2 - had a ball creating this.

Just some more scrapping to share. The Milo layout is for the Nook & Pantry comp over at Scrapz. The others are just because.....

We are having a quite day at home today. Stuart has heaps of study to do for him MBA so has gone to his office. No good trying to study at home when you have two children running around.

Emma has a physical Culture comp tomorrow so she will have to have an early night although we don't have to leave until lunch time. Speaking of Physi...... I must say that I am very proud of my sister in law because just this week she has just had her first book published and it is all about Physical Culture. You can read all about it here. Did I mention how proud of her I am? It is so very exciting and she is just over the moon about the whole thing.
Anyway I am off to do some scrapping. Might do digital today as I could not be bothered cleaning.
Have a fabulous weekend and will catch you later

Another Birthday

done and dusted...........

To everyone that has txt, emailed and phoned me I would like to say a big thank you. It made my day to have so many people do that.

My day started with a lovely cup of tea in bed (thank you princess) and then it was on to opening the pressies. Stuart bought me Adobe photoshop elements 8. I already have the full blown version of photoshop but wanted the smaller one. He also told me that I could go out and buy a bendy tripod for my camera (have wanted one for ages)

After I dropped the children off at school I met up with Sheree, Heike, Deb and Rach for morning tea at Max Brenners Chocolate shop - yummo. I had the yummiest cappuccino frappe. Sheree surprised me with an adorable gift of an address book and a little note book. They are covered in the cutest little birdies. I will show you once I get a photo. It was so lovely to meet the girls from Scrapz too.
Then it was on to lunch with Zina, Lee and Bec. We had a yummy lunch at this cute little Deli in Broadbeach. Once again I was given some beautiful gifts from these women. A voucher for Borders book store (one of my fav stores) a Dusk voucher (another of my fav's) and finally 4 delicious little cupcakes from the cupcake shop. I must say that they didn't last long either as I ate them when I came home. Felt a bit sick in the tum afterwards as they were so rich but hey it was worth it. Probably should have taken a photo before I ate them but just didn't think...
After lunch I picked children up from school and then had to take Emma to dancing. We had to rush home after that as we were going out for a family dinner to the Groove Train at Robina Town Centre. Nice food but the ambiance in the restaurant was real sucky. Very noisy and the lights were too bright.
So all in all you can see that I had a wonderful birthday with friends and family. Ate too much and probably had one glass of wine too much but was enjoyable all the same.
Have been scrapping again for Scrapz competitions. They have a HUGE competition starting on the 11th so if you scrap then head on over and sign up. It will be well worth it.
That is it for me today. Will be back with more layouts over the weekend.
Hope this finds you happy and healthy

Shock, Horror

She scraps again.........................

I completed these two layouts for the website challenges. Great little community of scrappers I must say. There are so many challenges every month you just have to go over and have a look. They are having a HUGE competition starting on the 11th October and from what I hear there will be loads of prizes and good ones too.... Oh and in case I didn't mention it - they have heaps of stuff in their on line store and the prices are awesome...

Not a lot has been happening on the home front. Stuart is busy working and doing his Masters and I am just busy working and looking after the children. We were lucky enough to have Stuart's mum come up this week for a bit of a break and also to help out with the children while the holidays are on. It saves us heaps of money when she does as it would cost us $80 a day otherwise just for 5 hours care.

Am getting excited now seeing as the retreat is drawing near. It is going to be so much fun and I am sure that I am going to meet heaps of new friends.

Anyway it is time that I started getting the dinner ready otherwise we will all starve.

Hope this finds you all happy and healthy

love Leanne :-)

I know I said...........

that "I would be back tomorrow to update my blog" but I kinda go busy and just never got back. I have been trying to finish the book of our holidays and Stuart and I will finish going over it tonight. He didn't really like the way I had written it so he wants us to both sit down and go over it together. Fine by me.

I scrapped - yep don't fall off your chair but after months of not doing anything I finally sat down and scrapped two pages. I must say that they are both for challenges found at My girlfriend Sheree is on the Design Team so I thought I had better go over and check it out. I must say that it is great for shopping. I ordered products on Thursday morning and they were at my front door today (friday) and the prices are very reasonable too so go on over and take a peek.

I am planning to do some more scrapping tonight if I am up to it. Have come down with a nasty head cold or sinus or something like that. My head feels like it will explode and I reckon it is from all the dust on Wednesday. I tried to get some photos but it really didn't look all that bad from our backyard. I am so glad that I never left the windows open when I went out otherwise I would have had a terrible mess to clean up. As it was I had to re wash my clothes as they had turned an icky shade of orange. Oh well it could have been much worse.

Anyway I am outta here as I am trying to print off photos to scrap.

Take care and stay safe

Day Seven

Our last night in Kuala Lumpur :-( I will be happy to get home but also sad that our vacation has almost come to an end. We have had such a full on time over here going non stop every day. Maybe next holiday we will go to Fiji where we can just be lazy and lounge around a pool all day.

Went to the Kraft Complex this morning but it was really disappointing and we ended up leaving after about 5 minutes and walked into town to find the Times Square shopping centre. We found it and it was gigantic....... Level after level of shopping and in the middle of it all was an amusement park with a big roller coaster. We never ended up going in as Jacob didn't want to go on it as he was a bit scared, this of course upset Emma as she loves the roller coasters
Decided to stop and have some KFC and then caught a cab back to the China Town markets. I love haggling over prices and get such a buzz when I buy something, so far I have purchased two Jimmy Choo bags, 1 prada bag and one D&G bag oh yeah and the Coach one I bought on day one. Stuart got a couple of nice wallets and we also managed to pick up a few other things for our niece and nephew. All non genuine but leather and reasonable quality. Gotta be happy with that.
We are having room service tonight as no one really wants to do anymore walking. I wish I had a pedometer thingie as I am sure it would have clicked 10 times over by now. We have done so much walking that I have managed to fit in one years exercise in one week hehehehe........
We are unsure what we are going to be doing tomorrow as our flight does not leave until 10 pm and check out time here at the hotel is 12 noon. Will probably just have to leave the luggage here and just go into town for a few hours. We have to be at the airport two hours before departure so that means we have to leave here at about 6.30.
I cannot wait to get home and start putting together my Blurb book that I am going to create of our holiday. I have taken so many photos but haven't shared many of them yet as I want to edit them and all that stuff. I will show you all the book once I have finished it.
Ok well Stuart should be back from his massage soon and then we are off to buy some more nibblies as the two little piggies that came with us have eaten them all... Looking forward to seeing you all soon

Love Leanne xx

Day Six

Wow I cannot believe that our holiday has almost come to an end. The days have gone by so quickly, I am definately not looking forward to the flight back as I couldn't sleep on the way over and our return flight is also a night one. The children are looking forward to it though as we are flying on a 747.

Today we got up bright and early had breakfast and then got a taxi to Batu Caves. Wowsers they were huge but really stank and there was rubbish and yuck everywhere which was such a pity. We had to climb up 272 very steep stairs which was hard on these old legs lol. We encountered heaps of monkeys and although they may have looked cute they were quite vicious. One of them attacked Jacob and scratched his leg.

Got the taxi to bring us back via the Pavillion shopping centre which is definately for the rich, such a classy place and with every famous designer you could possibly think of. Didn't stay in that place for too long. Came back to the hotel as it started to rain and we all went for a swim. As soon as i finished the swim I went down to the spa and had my foot reflexology, shoulder and back massage. Mmmm it was so relaxing and i really didn't want to leave.

While I was having my massage Stuart and the kids went to the shops and bought some more nibblies. Emma and I sat down and watched Juno while munching on a packet of BBQ chips (at least I think they are, cannot actually understand the writing). Once we finished the movie we all headed over the road and picked up some Domino's pizza. We are all now sitting here in the lounge watching some silly movie on the Disney Channel. I think it is called Rocket man.

Not a lot planned tomorrow at this stage. I think we are going to find the shopping centre that has a large indoor amusement park. It is not far from us apparently. Will fill you in on all the details tomorrow.

Take care and stay safe

Leanne :-)
